Pancyprian Cyprus Dentists Beach Volley Tournament is organized every year among the Local Dental Associations of the free parts of Cyprus (that is, the Dental Associations of Famagusta, Larnaca, Limassol, Kyrenia-Nicosia and Paphos).

The main aim of the tournament is for dentists of different districts to get together (dentist-bonding), have fun and to get some exercise since our profession usually keeps us away from any physical exercise. The rules of the game are simple:
1) the referee is a professional from the Cyprus volleyball association (in order to avoid any arguments between the colleagues when the heat is on!)
2) Each team plays with 4 or 5 players who must be dentists practising and belonging to one of the dental associations. If there aren't enough players to form a team, then members of the families of the dentists and/or dental technicians and/or dental company representatives can play.
3) A match is won when a team makes two wins of 15 points or, if it is agreed, one match of 21 points.

It is worth noting that the Limassol Dental Association won the tournament this year for the third time in a row (2002, 2003, 2004) !
